This exciting two day national conference aims to bring the MSK communities together and share some of the latest and most relevant topics in clinical, education, training, and research. Through leadership, commitment and collaborative working, we will build on our past successes to continue striving towards a sustainable and high-quality workforce to deliver MSK service transformation fit for the present and future.

The conference will be hosted at Birmingham NEC, and is open to all MSK clinicians of different settings as part of a multi professional workforce.

Our team are speaking at the Therapy Expo on Wednesday 22nd November

Dr Marwan Al-Dawoud – National Sport and Exercise Medicine Doctor at Connect Health, will be in the STA Therapy Update Theatre at 13:00 – 13:25 where he will discuss “POCUS: A Game-Changer in MSK Assessment“.

Our team will also be in MSK Breakout Room 1 at 14:15-15:45, introducing the proposal to develop a truly multi-disciplinary College for MSK, Sport and Exercise based on a merge of FSEM and BASEM. This will be followed by some Connect Health case studies highlighting our re-constructed workforce which includes osteopaths, chiropractors, sports therapists and people with lived experience working as equals alongside traditional NHS MSK clinicians.

Join Connect Health’s Dr Graeme Wilkes – Chief Medical Officer, Dr Marwan Al-Dawoud -National Sport and Exercise Medicine Doctor, Samuel Morris – Clinical Delivery Lead, Dr Alastair Jones – Sports Medicine and MSK Physician, and Richard Pell – Campaign Director of Flippin’ Pain in the talk “Multi-disciplinary MSK workforce in the NHS – a high quality solution to the workforce and public health crises?”.

On Thursday, you can catch Dr Ian Bernstein, Musculoskeletal Physician and Clinical Advisor for NW London ICB – Connect Health and National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, as he explores evidence-informed personalised care approach to managing Chronic musculoskeletal pain, 10:30-12:00 on Thursday 23rd November in MSK Breakout Room 2. Dr Bernstein will be joined by Connect Health colleagues Liz Prokopowicz – Advanced Practice Physiotherapist Pain Management and Renato Silva – Advanced Practice Physiotherapist Pain Management.
