Each year Connect Health organises a ‘Bee-Celebrated’ recognition event to say thank you to all colleagues for their contributions over the last 12 months. We are delighted that this year Performance Healthcare is supporting this important milestone.

Stuart Mathers, Senior Area Sales Manager, NE England at Performance Health tells us more.

At Performance Health we provide a range of over 10,000 consumables to the Healthcare industry. We offer the most comprehensive range of physio and MSK products in the UK at present, delivered in a timely manner to support the clinician to give the highest levels of patient care.

We have worked with Connect Health over several years providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation consumables throughout Connect Health’s MSK clinics. Everything from TheraBand, wrist braces, walking aids, tape, acupuncture needles and more.

During the last 4 years, both companies have seen phenomenal growth opportunities that are planned, delivered and executed for the benefit of the patient in a professional way.

We assess the product needs of the clinician alongside Connect Health and make recommendations of the products that best fit the purpose, to give the clinician the very best product to complete the MSK services. We offer both an ongoing product supply service but regularly work on new clinic start-ups supplying the products needed to meet the clinic opening dates.


Why did you sponsor our Bee Celebrated Awards?

Having worked alongside Connect for the last 4 years, we have experienced professionalism, loyalty and respect; Connect always work with us to achieve the best possible outcome and it gives us great pleasure of offering this sponsorship to the company to show the gratitude for the relationship and standard of business we do together.

The Awards are a fantastic way of rewarding the commitment of employees. Connect is a forward-thinking ethical company and this is their way of giving back. The employee is key to the business – an employee that feels happy and rewarded will always go the extra mile for the company. Having been on the receiving end of employee of the year awards at Performance Health, I can speak with honestly when I say the recognition you receive and the respect from fellow employees in the award ceremony makes it all worthwhile.


How do you celebrate the success of your staff?

At Performance Health we recognise that our success comes from the sum of all our parts and the most fundamental piece of this is our people. We have a clear defined approach to celebrating success all of which follow the values of our business. We have no restrictions on who can nominate, just that they tell us why.

‘Shout out’s’ are our first level of recognition and this was launched across our global business, so we could recognise and thank colleagues for a job well done or going the extra mile whist doing their usual day to day job.  From this the Senior Leadership Team select their standout from the month to call out at the monthly Company communication.

We also have a Global company scheme which celebrates individuals that have gone above and beyond the winners of which are called out at the Quarterly Global communication.

We have tried not to over complicate the process, as celebrating success is one of the fun parts of being at work!


How have you found working with Connect Health as a business and their ethos?

Connect Health is the most forward thinking customer I currently work with; It is a true pleasure to be able to work together, the clue here is in my previous words – working with Kayleigh and team is not an effort, the line of communication is always open, the level of professionalism and customer care provided is second to none, I am enthused to be able to work at this level myself and support Connect in delivering their future Goals.

The visible expansion at Connect Health in the last 4 years in terms of employees, live contracts and the general office space that greets me on a visit it incredible. Connect seem to have a very successful business model which enables them to engage and win business with an ever changing NHS.


What are your ambitions for Performance Health?

Our Global purpose is to help people feel good, perform better and live their best and that is our starting point for the UK business. We are a leading player in consumer healthcare & rehabilitation and want to grow our business in the UK through giving consumers and patients the products they need and desire. We believe our broad portfolio, loyal customer base, strong brands and experienced, skilled, employees give us a real opportunity to grow our business sustainably in the future and that is our focus.


What do you see is the future of your industry?

We believe the market is set to grow in coming years due to 2 major trends: (1) The ageing population leads to an increased demand for daily living aids and products that support the quality of life for the elderly; (2) The acceleration of “self pay” as consumers become more proactive in understanding their own health needs and take a more active role in the purchasing process to satisfy their healthcare needs. Given this environment, UK consumers are going to rely even more on the physio industry and key opinion leaders in the healthcare community to ensure they make the correct choices in meeting their requirements.
