Lucy has been the Regional Clinical Lead in our Sussex Pain Service since its inception in 2012. She particularly enjoys managing the team, improving access for patients and developing relationships with local stakeholders, including training with primary care clinicians. Previously, she was a Clinical Lead in Pain Management Solutions since it was set up in 2007 in Sheffield. She was the first UK Nurse Consultant in Pain Management in 2001, working in chronic, acute and cancer pain management, and undertaking research in sickle cell pain.

She graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1990, and started working in HIV and genitourinary medicine in London and then intensive care. She has undertaken short voluntary health projects in India, Uganda and Jamaica, and led the health section of an international volunteer programme in the Maldives. Outside work she enjoys cycling, salsa dancing and fair-weather sea swimming.
