Established in 1989, Connect has grown from a single provider clinic to being one of the largest providers of community musculoskeletal physiotherapy services to the NHS and corporates, with over 300 clinical experts in MSK. As a growing organisation with a focus on patients, evidence and clinical effectiveness, we recognise the importance of leaders in the organisation and the contribution they make.

With an increasing demand for Consultant Physiotherapists in the profession, we are delighted to appoint Steve Nawoor as our second Consultant Physiotherapist. He will join our Consultant Physiotherapist for the South, Matthew Wyatt, in maintaining a portfolio covering 4 pillars – Quality and Service Improvement; Expert Clinical Practice; Clinical Leadership; and Training & Education.

Steve is based in our Central region and brings with him more than 10 years of experience from the NHS, Private Sector and Elite Sport. He took an unorthodox route into Physiotherapy, from mines and demolitions in the Army, to a Physical Training Instructor in the Prison Service, before he entered the world of Physiotherapy.

He has worked as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist and Injection Therapist in the NHS covering both traditional Orthopaedic and Rheumatology practice, and recently presented at the World Confederation of Physical Therapy in South Africa on Advanced Practice. Steve’s clinical interests lie within Clinical Reasoning, Advanced Practice, Mentorship and Clinical Leadership. This will be a great asset to all employees at Connect but particularly in the Central region and initially in the North.

Mr Nawoor said:

“I will be joining Connect in January 2018 as a Consultant Physiotherapist, and have been attracted by a workforce and management team that is driven by quality and clinical excellence. The opportunities and development from new graduate through to Consultant Physiotherapist are vast, with numerous career offshoots for individuals, allowing a person to have scope to find their niche within the career pathway. Connects vision, values and plans for MSK services are exciting, innovative and progressive and I am really looking forward to getting started.”

There is still a fantastic opportunity for a Consultant Physiotherapist in the North. If you are interested, please email talent@connecthealth.co.uk for further details.
