Parking is available in The Maltings Car Park and the Civic Centre Car Park, both no more than a 1 minute walk from the facility.

Upon arrival at the venue, please press the buzzer and someone will let you in and show you to the waiting area.

 

Prior to coming into clinic

Please do not attend your appointment if you have any symptoms suggestive of COVID-19.  The key symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 are:

  • A high temperature or fever
  • A new continuous cough
  • Loss or change of smell or taste

In addition, if you have come into close contact with any person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 10 days, please do not attend your appointment.

If you are unable to attend your appointment because of new symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 or have had contact with anyone who has had confirmed COVID-19 in the past 10 days, please call us to rearrange your appointment. You can find the number for your service on the ‘Contact Us’ section of the website.

 

When you arrive at the clinic venue

Please follow instructions you have been given or displayed;

  • Please enter the department and report to reception. Please ensure that you follow any directions relating to hand sanitising and social distancing.

You will be required to wear a mask or face covering to your appointment and please don’t bring anybody else into the building with you.

  • In some areas we are asking patients to wait outside or in their car –You will be informed of this if applicable on booking.  In these areas:
    • If you arrive by car, please wait in your car.
    • If you have not arrived by car, please wait outside (unless the weather requires you to come indoors). Your clinician will call you at the time of your appointment and complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire and to invite you into the clinic. If you do not have a mobile phone, please only enter the venue at your appointment time. Your clinician will complete the screening questionnaire with you prior to entering the consultation room.

 

Important information

If for any reason you can no longer make your appointment, please let us know. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please call the service at least 48 hours prior to your appointment so it can be offered to someone else.

Please help us to keep patient waiting times low and reduce NHS costs. If you do not give us sufficient notice to cancel or change an appointment, we may have to discharge you from this service.

In your area, Connect Health has been contracted to provide the counselling for depression service in conjunction with the NHS. It is an NHS service, completely free at the point of entry like all NHS services.

Our service brings together a range of experienced counsellors to listen, assess and help you with your condition within your local community.

  • Keep us informed: If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please call the service at least 48 hours prior to your appointment, so it can be offered to someone else. This keeps patient waiting times low and helps to reduce NHS costs. If you do not give us sufficient notice, you may be discharged from this service.
  • Don’t be a DNA: If you Do Not Attend (DNA) or you are late to your appointment without notifying us, you may be discharged from this service.

Please bring to the appointment any recent prescriptions and/or a list of current medications.

  • Patients with additional needs: If the Patient is vulnerable, or has a disability, or mobility problems, then please advise us when you book their appointment.
  • Translation Support: If you require an interpreter, please advise us which language you require when you book your appointment.
