About the role 

We’ve an exciting new opportunity to join us as our Consultant Physiotherapist with an interest in Rheumatology for our South NHS MSK services. The successful candidate will have a base service from which they will predominantly work (agreed with the applicant) but have regional responsibility and accountability in the role.

You will be joining a team of two key high-profile clinicians, who lead our Central and South regions, working closely with the Senior Management Team and our Board in proactively ensuring our organisation is equipped for growth; specifically, in the field of MSK related Rheumatology. We also have a range of Developing Consultants, Subject Matter Experts (including in Rheumatology) and a Research Lead who contribute significantly to our organisations Clinical Leadership structure. As a Consultant Physiotherapist you would support leading this group of motivated expert clinicians to improve the quality of our service delivery and experience of our patients.

This role is key in providing a mixture of clinical patient sessions, and excellent clinical leadership.

As our Consultant Physiotherapist, you will deliver advanced clinical practice, leadership, research and education with competency in each pillar within the agreed competency framework. This will involve the analysis of highly complex facts and situations and patient presentations.  You’ll provide expert clinical practice to the service, bringing innovation and influence to the clinical leadership and strategic direction in the field of MSK rheumatology services for the benefit of patients.

You will work collaboratively with the clinical leadership team across the business, and be supported by the Medical Director, Clinical Leadership Team and Senior operational team, who with their knowledge and expertise about our MSK services drive high levels of quality care.

You will work closely with the clinical leads and operational managers to ensure that all regional services achieve a report of Good or Outstanding in a CQC inspection.  You’ll play a pivotal role in the integration of research evidence into practice. This will be delivered by enhancing quality in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, management and evaluation of MSK rheumatology to improve the outcomes for patients.

Who we’re looking for

You will be a practising Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner with experience in MSK rheumatology services and excellent clinical leadership skills. You will have experience of researching best practice, delivering outputs and publications.

You will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for quality care. You will be inspirational in your communication and people management skills and drive engagement of teams to be the best.

You’ll be focused, driven and have the desire to measure results of activity and make a difference to delivery of care.

You will be commercially focused and fully committed to promoting the Connect brand and being an ambassador in the external market.

You’ll have proven experience of being able to achieve the appropriate balance between clinical delivery and meeting the financial needs of the business.
