About the role
We’ve got an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic Business Development Manager for our Occupational Physiotherapy Service (OPS) to come in from any service sector background. With regional responsibility, this position is important as we embark on a period of ambitious growth.
Connect has seen a massive expansion within our NHS community care business and now the focus is on OPS to deliver similar exponential growth. With a strong and eager team in place, we now look to bring in energetic external expertise to help deliver the fast paced growth for MSK and new services.
Reporting to the OPS General Manager, you will develop and deliver sustainable new business for your region, working closely with the operational Service Manager and clinical colleagues. You will have a sales / business development background selling tailored services to blue chip / corporate customers. You will be based from home, but be self-driven and feel like an integral part of the 60 strong team delivering high quality service to our current client base of over 100 customers, which include some of UK’s best known blue chip companies from the private and public sectors, including transport, manufacturing, food & beverage, utilities, pharmaceutical and many others.
You will also be accountable for:
• This role is critical in building upon a successful pipeline to develop our fast-growing Occupational Physiotherapist Services
• Responsibility for business development within your geographical region: North (NE England, Cumbria and Scotland), Central (NW England, M62 corridor and the Midlands) or South (London and surrounding areas)
• Managing the relationship with allocated Occupational Health (OH) partners, to develop opportunities to grow Connect’s business
• Gaining a thorough understanding of key customer markets, to act as an in-house industry expert
• Successfully transitioning the customer relationship to operational colleagues to deliver the service and manage the account
• Working with colleagues to develop new and innovative service offerings
You will be joining a well-established team and a great business, with strong customer relationships.
This role will require travel across your region and be based from home. Candidates will occasionally be required to attend team meetings at our head office in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Who we’re looking for

Experience of working in the healthcare sector is not essential and those from outside the industry are actively encouraged. What is essential however is your passion for delivering new business and making a real difference to deliver amazing results in a patient and people focused manner.
You will have experience from being a successful business development professional in a service-based industry, together with a strong commercial focus and an unwavering drive to make your business a success. You will have a can-do approach to business, a planner and an implementer without losing sight of the operational practicalities, and you will thrive in providing innovative solutions too.
You will also need a full manual driving licence with no more than 6 points
